I’m a native English speaker, receptive bilingual in Greek, American by birth, English, Greek and Irish by descent, Germanist by choice and lover of learning by nature.

I have always been fascinated by language, literature and foreign cultures, of different lenses through which one can experience the world. Knowing from an early age that my future lay somewhere between Europe and the US, I tried to plan accordingly. I used my free time to start teaching myself German at the age of 16 while also learning French at secondary school, both out of a genuine interest in the language and the fear of falling behind my European cousins in regards to language skills.

 

I went on to study German and Creative Writing in Baltimore, Berlin and Koblenz (2010-2014) and take the CELTA (Certificate in English Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages) at the British Council Athens (2016). Since 2016, I have spent ample time in the US and Europe, taught General English and FCE Exam Preparation at International House Minsk in Belarus (2017-2018 academic year), attended Irish language summer courses in the Gaeltacht, and visited with family. I had been planning to teach abroad again when the 2020 pandemic hit.

 

In addition to teaching and tutoring private students in German and English, I am currently working to improve my core languages with the intention of studying to become a certified literary translator within the next few years.​

Apart from learning languages and reading, I am an avid traveller, espresso enthusiast and taker of aesthetic notes on whichever book I'm reading at the time.
